Structure Laboratory

Laboratory Supervisor: Yu-Shiuh Jeng, Associate Professor
Laboratory Number: A1-323
Laboratory Floor Level: 3F

Educational features:
  1. The purpose of this course is for students to learn how to measure reaction force, internal force, displacement, stress, and strain in simple structures under loading and to verify theories of structural mechanics.
  2. Features include both semi-automatic and manual measurements of structural test items—the former emphasizes test precision, and the latter emphasizes actual operations—and reinforces the connection between experimental and theoretical courses.

Experiments:
  1. Beam shear test (automatic)
  2. Beam bending moment test (automatic)
  3. Beam deflection test (automatic, manual)
  4. Circular bar torque test (automatic)
  5. Beam bending stress (automatic)
  6. Steel frame deflection and reaction test (automatic, manual)
  7. Pillar buckling test (automatic, manual)
  8. Truss deflection and stress test (manual)
  9. Continuous beam reaction test (manual)
  10. Beam slope, deflection, and bending moment test (manual)
  11. Two-hinged arch test (manual)
  12. Three-hinged arch test (manual)
  13. Structural stability test (manual)
